Hong Kong Eatery - Boston

On August 26, 2022, at 11am, we ordered a whole chicken, roast pork, and roasted rice at Hong Kong Eatery, our longtime favorite restaurant. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the food we received today. The roasted rice seemed to be lacking flavor with no salt, and the portion size was smaller with a higher price. I hope this was just a one-time mistake.

This is a genuine Cantonese restaurant! The flavors are just like the ones I experienced in Macau and Hong Kong. They even use the same styrofoam for their lunch boxes. The staff here speak in Cantonese, making me feel like I'm in Asia while enjoying my meal. However, the restaurant is a bit cramped inside. If they were able to expand the space, it would be even more amazing and deserving of a five-star rating.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. However, the wait in the drive-thru was frustrating and it was unclear what the people were waiting for. The wait time at the register or for pick-up was also frustrating, but it seemed to be due to a lack of space for employees. They should consider expanding the space behind the counter after their recent renovations. Despite these issues, I still recommend this place. Dining in is much easier than getting take-out.

Big tear! the amount was for two people and it cost only $10. so good and full, they are very generous!

We ordered delivery for Hong Kong style lo mein with 3 combinations: BBQ pork, duck and beef. This is super worth it and generous amount of meat. However, the Beef Lo mein for the same price pales in comparison. Only a few pieces of meat and mostly noodles. They came with soup which is very yummy but abit too salty. Milktea was okay. Packaging was not so good as the sauce was everywhere in our delivery bag. They need to improve their packaging and be more environmentally friendly by stop using styrofoam boxes.
