Its bright and cheerful with a little front room seating about a dozen, and then a few more in a back room which has a cosy gas log fire which we needed today! Décor is simple with little red metal chairs and stools and black laminex tables. We sat right next to the fire on the last remaining table when we visited late morning. Unfortunately its also right next to the kitchen door which didn't seem to close when the staff walked in and out, and kept giving me a very unattractive view of the kitchen sink. Service was very good, plenty of young friendly and efficient staff. Our drinks order of a pot of English breakfast tea and cup of Italian style powdered hot chocolate arrived promptly. They were very busy and we had finished our cuppas before our food arrived - bacon and poached eggs with sourdough toast, and the pulled pork roll with apple slaw, aioli, rocket and swiss cheese. Eggs were cooked properly and came with 2 large slices of bacon and 2 slices of buttered toast. The pulled pork roll was so yummy! plenty of beautifully cooked pork on a large Panini roll, exceptionally good and fresh slaw, and it all went well together. Half would have been enough for me - it was huge. You could share. On the way out we purchased a mini brownie to test their desserts later, which were all home made and looked great. It was very good, very fudgey, heavy on walnuts and light on chocolate. Total cost for 2 meals, 2 drinks and the brownie was $39. I would definitely return for lunch. They serve a range of desserts and gourmet rolls as well as standard breakfast fare.
A great little cafe in Balwyn that is well located to grab a quick coffee, breakfast or some delicious soup. Service is generally very good and the barista is super nice. Food is well priced and fresh which is a big plus over some of the others on the strip. Try the Avocado breaky and grab a seat in the window!
I find it quite off-putting to enter a cafe and order my coffee with the first server I see at the counter, only to be either ignored or handed on to someone else because "the Barrista doesn't take the orders". If that's the case, why place them in the first spot customers will go to for service? This is what happened to ... me at Rhimini's and it put me right off. When it came, my coffee was actually pretty good and the rest of the service was nice - but fix that first step, please.
Great coffee? Check! Quality food/breakfast? Check! Good service? Check! WIR? Definately!! There's also a rear courtyard for the summer and sunny Autumn
Great food, fantastic coffee, and outstanding service make this restaurant a must-visit. The cozy back room is complete with a fireplace for chilly days, while the outdoor area provides a lovely spot to enjoy warmer weather. Don't miss out on this delightful dining experience.
