Cabbage Island Clambakes

What a delightful experience! The food was fantastic, the staff were excellent, and even the owners were present to socialize and engage with guests. We had such a wonderful time and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a perfect New England experience.

This place is so great! I have visited many times. Family run business and they are so welcoming to all. My town does a bus trip to Boothbay Harbor in Maine and we board their boat named the Bennie Alice and get a 1 hour tour prior to reaching the island. Once there you can relax and enjoy all there is to see and prepare yourself for the feast! You start off with the fish chowder and then head down to the area of the island where they cook the lobsters and get your tray. Twin lobsters, baked potato, onion, corn on the cob, boiled egg, and steamers with melted butter. It is not over yet because after you've eaten all that now comes the generous piece of blueberry cake to top it all off! After a while they take you back to Boothbay Harbor on a shorter route and you can spend the rest of the day shopping and if you still have room get ice cream. A definite must see and do.

This was such a fun experience and one of the highlights of our 2 week Maine trip. The employees were all very friendly and the lobster, bathed in butter with a squeeze of lemon (ask for this from the building with tables, trust me) was heavenly. I'd recommend taking bonine if there's any chance you might get a little seasick and finding your seats on the island as soon as you get off the boat. We were able to find two chairs all to ourselves with views of the water. They'll ring bells when the chowder is ready, when the meal is ready, and when dessert is ready. Wear sunscreen and instinct repellent and have the best time!

This is an incredible place! I really enjoyed the beautiful cruise. The Clam/Lummerbäckchen was unbelievably delicious, and the lobster was the best I've ever had. The owners and their family are so friendly and helpful. If there's one thing you do in Boothbay, make sure it's this cruise—you won't be disappointed!
