Staff were very friendly and told us that there was no problem to take our time and have a relaxing meal, before the show. We started off with cocktails, which were wonderful espresso martinis! Delicious! The set 2 course menu (mains and dessert) was reasonably extensive and priced at $60/head. We paced ourselves with meals and drinks, so that by 7.40pm we were ready to see Elton. We had the barramundi for mains and this was delicious. We did wait a while for our wine to arrive, however no big deal, as we were content to wait. We had a cheese platter and the rich chocolate tart for desserts and both were very nice. I guess that our only issue was the delay in the wine reaching us before the mains. Staff were very friendly and wanted to assist. The whole dinner cost us $180/couple. Added bonus is that you are right at the venue and the no-hassle 50m walk to your concert seats.
Our group of six show-goers arrived for our 12 noon booking made months before and were led to a distant table against a wall at the end of the room. A fair amount of time lapsed before our main course orders were taken but the real delay was between main and desserts from a set menu. There was about an hour between the 2 orders and between desserts being ordered and arriving. It was 1.40 when they arrived for a show starting at 2 pm. As well, we ordered tea to arrive with our dessert but it didn't come. When we paid for our meal at about 1.50, we mentioned the missing tea orders. The waitress said they would make the teas in takeaway cups, We waited but found out the manager had gone off to another outlet looking for spare cups. This is very disappointing for a restaurant that must be experienced in providing meals for concert-goers. The food was satisfactory but the service needs to be more prompt and actually deliver.
We were seated promptly for our 6.15pm booking and our meal orders were taken (and received) without much delay, I wasn't however impressed with the delay to the wine my husband ordered. He was hoping his wine would arrive in time for his main meal, or at least, by the time dessert arrived. It was a no show despite reminding staff. We eventually cancelled his request altogether. There seemed to be plenty of staff so I don't know how hard it could have been. The meals were good but I don't think the cost of $58 was value for money.
A set two course menu with four choices for main and three for dessert, with dinner roll, tea and coffee included. At $58, I thought it was reasonable given the venue. The staff were lovely and efficient. I had the crusted lamb on a bed of mashed potatoes and beans it was cooked to perfection! Whilst it was just the right serving size for me, my husband’s meal the red snapper, left him wanting more. I followed up with the cheese plate for dessert, which was very generous and most delicious. The complimentary coffee could be better but overall, I would recommend this as a great pre show option. Bookings essential.
Stars was probably better than take away, at least we could sit down instead of walking around eating fish and chips from one of the many eateries. A 2 course menu for $55.00 , I had the fish, must have been pre cooked because it arrived quickly, and you had to cut it like a steak, the bread roll was hard but the butter softened it a bit. Dessert was better. It is 2018 and 3 beers on the list, xxxx, hienekin and pale ale. It’s a bit like tripe, brains and liver, pick one. The Cher concert was the best , sure made up for it.
