Doug's Seafood - Bonita Springs

If you're a fan of New England seafood, this place is worth a visit. We tried several grilled and fried dishes, and everything was delicious, except for the tacos. They were quite underwhelming, and the shells were not very good.

Lobster and crab rolls done to perfection! The restaurant has a wonderful casual atmosphere, ideal for lunch, and their lobster wontons are incredible. The person manning the fryer definitely deserves an award; they’re light and crispy, providing the perfect backdrop for the delicious lobster filling.

If you visit this seafood spot with realistic expectations of a strip mall setting, you won’t be disappointed. Personally, I find that local hole-in-the-wall eateries often serve the best food, especially when it comes to seafood. We dropped by for a light bite and decided to share a small lobster roll and fries. Wow! The lobster was in generous chunks and simply scrumptious. The fries were cooked to perfection as well and are worth a visit on their own. We also ordered some takeout lobster bisque for our family, which turned out to be delicious. The restaurant itself is quite... well, dirty and basic; you place your order, get assigned to a cubicle table, and then your food is brought to you. I’m perfectly fine with that since the food is unbeatable. I'm eager to try more items from the menu!

I?m going to be as nice as possible but not lie. When you walk in the smell is off putting. It?s a seafood establishment so it?s to be expected but cleaning with a little bleach can drastically minimize the smell. I ordered the clam chowder and there was no clam in my chowder, more potatoes than anything. When I was ordering my roll, the guys asked if I wanted chips as a side, me thinking I was getting fries was extremely disappointed when I received potato chips. It felt like a joke. Calling that thing a lobster roll is a huge reach. It might be lobster, it might not be. It?s served on a potato hot dog bun. Anywhoo, you order and your given a table number and they bring everything to you and just hand it to you. No trays, no actual plates. They?re operating cost might be low but their environmental impact is huge. The amount of waste this place must produce. Anyways, they have a soda fountain option where the soda is located on the other end of the restaurant, in the back. I did not enjoy this experience and I will not be back. I?m honestly shocked at all the other reviews or how this place is even open. Definitely smoke and mirrors.

Got a small lobster roll $24)and grouper basket $16). Those prices include the 3.5% fee for using a card. Wife didn?t finish the lobster roll, tasted over cooked and extremely fishy. Sadly came on the smallest and cheapest hotdog bun, not even normal brioche. grouper was unseasoned and fries were hard even with a 25 minute drive in the to go box. Placed order around 11:50, was order #1 for the day, all chefs were talking and hanging out when I came in. Food was served quickly.
