The Surf Club Bribie Island - Bongaree

The meals we ordered were okay but nothing special. We went for dinner but it is better to go there for lunch. Then you have a great view as the inside of the dining area is very plain. The staff was very friendly.

I have been wanting to try the seafood platter for 2 and it is excellent! too much to eat for 2 but we did bring our appetite. A bit of everything: oysters natural and kilpatrick, bugs, prawns, fish and chips, scallops And with the marvelous back drop of woorim beach dunes and Moreton Island. You have done it again surf club! and profits go to our local nippers too

Am going back for the seafood chowder again! Lots of scallops, mussels, big pieces of fish and prawns. Absolutely delicious. Amazing view on the deck. Staff were very friendly. What’s not to love!

Small highest club with bar, bistro, rest facilities, pokies and a slight water view. Ample parking usually altho peak times may be a problem. Just enough beer on tap varieties, minimal pokies to select. Nothing fancy to see with basic bistro furnishings on a large covered deck, look at the beach dune shrubbery and water from afar. Chicken Schnitzel meals (2) were ordered and altho they were edible. I did have a few wonders about the quite stodgy brown shiny mash potato as if it was left overs. The salad consisted of bean shoots, rocket, tomato and feta with dressing, surprisingly tasteless. The sad looking chips, the comment was from the patrons “they looked like the bottom of the commercial frozen bag of chips”, crispy bits and/or stumpy short chips. Being local I have frequented this club annually and to my astonishment it’s still disappointing. Why is it if it’s near the water the food quality is poor, almost as if they don’t need to try hard as it’s got a water view and busy anyway. Food is a lot better elsewhere. Come for the look and a drink, not the food.

Welcomed at the door and taken to reserved seats. Table service was very good and the banter was funny and witty. The food was well served and presented and was very tasty. Beer was cold and well priced
