The king is dead, long live the king. I was a mad sick fan of Bondi FM and lamented its passing (with whisky, lots of whisky) until seeing the phoenix that
I stopped in for a couple of glasses of wine with a friend on a Saturday afternoon.
Stopped in for a late lunch over the Easter long weekend and was pleasantly surprised. All staff were extremely nice and super attentive, which can be very rare in Bondi. We ordered the John Dory, special and Royale with cheese burger. Fish was well battered & cooked, sauce made the dish. Burger bun was soft, good amount of sauce/mustard & chopped pickles, beef was cooked well done as requested. Only down side was it was a bit small for the $14 price tag with chips costing extra, but then again a lot of places are charging this much just for burgers. Overall experience was great.
What a find this place was! Not only are they open Monday night but from 5-6 they have $2 oysters! Any place that has a cocktail menu and then a separate extra fancy cocktail menu has won me over! The menu is huge and has something for everyone including a selection of jaffles, small plates and larger meals. However Monday is $15 burgers and beer night so that is what we went for! And you would think with a special like that you would be stuck with the house larger but no it's an American atomic pale ale that pairs perfectly with a burger. My friend is vegetarian and she had their vego burger - tofu with satay sauce, jalapeño chutney, coleslaw and cheese. She loved it! The bar has an upmarket American diner feel and with a different special everyday we will be back
