Baie-Vista Restaurant - Bonavista

The food was quite good, I ate fish and chips and my husband said their burger was delicious. Yummy onion rings and homemade french fries completed our meals. :) If you want this type of meal in your travels, I definitely recommend this place!

We dined at this restaurant based on the suggestion of hotel staff. The overall experience was quite basic, from the food quality to the atmosphere and decor. Our meals were average and not particularly generous in portion size. The waitress was friendly, earning the restaurant 3 stars from us. Without her, we would have rated it lower, at 2 stars. Overall, we were unimpressed and do not plan on returning.

After visiting the lighthouse, we decided to try out this restaurant, despite one of our friends having reservations about it. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. While the restaurant may be a bit run-down, the server was extremely cheerful and attentive. I ordered the half hot turkey sandwich with cooked carrots, fries, dressing, and gravy, which was delicious. The dressing reminded me of the one from Sharons in Carbonear when it was still great. The rest of our group ordered cod with fries, dressing, and gravy, along with homemade tartar sauce and slaw. The food was satisfying and the service was prompt, especially when we ordered coffee. It's worth noting that the restaurant was quite empty when we arrived at 12:15pm, but quickly filled up when a tour bus arrived. Despite the potential for slower service with a large crowd, the server remained attentive. Overall, the food and service were excellent, but the restaurant could benefit from a thorough cleanup or renovation.

The pizza is consistently delicious at this restaurant, especially if you call ahead. It's one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. However, there can be a long wait for orders placed in the restaurant. Once the food arrives, it is indeed tasty. The prices are fair for the quality of the food.

Head to the Baie Vista if you're interested in rude service, long wait times, and terrible food. Waited over an hour for a burger and fries. The burger was chewy and tasted like cheap frozen Costco burgers. My bun was freezer burnt. The waitress had no etiquette and only stopped by when we had finished our meal to bark "want anything else". Terrible experience!
