Café Acadien - Bonaventure

Amazing ambience and delicious food. The weather was perfect when we arrived and the sunset was colouring the room. Make sure you book in advance as it gets busy, especially after 5pm. Our waitress seated us quickly, but I did not appreciate how she welcomed us. When we first stepped in the restaurant, she assumed right away that we did not have a reservation and barked a remark 'eh boy, dont know if I can sit these two ' before even asking us if we have reserved (which we obviously did). We were a couple in our early 30s. So maybe because we looked like young travelers, she thought we were out of place. Anyhow, my hats goes off to the chef for delivering amazingly good food. The waitress/host needs to work on her greeting guests.

Great location with an amazing view on the sea. We were visited the Gaspésie region and we had this place on our list. You should always reserve your place since it’s always full. The staff is friendly and helpful! The food is just amazing and you wouldn’t be disappointed since it’s fresh and homemade. Great job!

Absolutely delicious food. The portions aren't too huge but perfectly sufficient! We took the pasta of the day (salmon linguine) and the cod, both were great. Highly recommend.

Nice place. My plate (filet de morue) was really tasteless and the waitresses seemed in a hurry. The ambiance was good and my partner's plate was OK. We'll try a different restaurant our next time in Bonaventure.

While visiting the Gaspésie area and it's breathtaking point if views, one has no choice but to take the plunge in the local culture. Café Acadien offers exactly that. From it's charming setting, to it's authentically local ingredients; Café Acadien offers deliciously fresh and flavourful plates. Their dish presentations are exquisitely crafted, bursting with vibrant colors. A culinary experience worth the time and the price. The staff are courteous and were kind enough to accommodate our kids with the menu.
