Sagar - Bolton

There were ten of us here on NYE for an early doors meal and we all enjoyed everything we had. We never felt rushed even though we had to vacate the table by a certain time so they could get ready for the NYE special bookings. Staff were very friendly and efficient and everything we ordered was correctly delivered to table. I would definitely come here again . My food was lovely!! Thank you Sagar!

We have dined at Sagar for probably 25 years. We don’t eat out often but it’s one of the places we choose when we do. I could not believe how much the food had deteriorated since our last visit. Bright RED chicken tikka masala, just like you would get from the worse take away you can imagine! Not only was it red, it tasted like there was sugar in the sauce. Never eating there again! I recommend Spice Valley in Horwich as an alternative

I have been to this restaurant about 7 times and usually receive okay and decent service. However, tonight the service was slow and actually poor. The starter took 40 minutes to arrive, and when it did, half of it was cold and inedible. We informed the waiter, who said he would tell the manager. The main course was okay. When we asked for the bill and ordered a taxi, we had to wait a long time. Finally, the taxi arrived before we received the bill, so they had to write a new one. I mentioned the issue with the starter, but they just apologized and still expected us to pay. Overall, it was very disappointing and left a bad impression. I will not be returning. I would prefer to go to Bindi in Aspull or Ajmeer in Standish.

We were rushed through our meal, the chicken was dry, the rice wasn 't cooked properly, my sisters chicken was unedible it tasted 'off '. The meal tasted like it had been made days before. My sister ordered chicken tikka masala, which came with a vegetable sauce which tasted awful. The meal my sister got was not a meal, it was a starter (which they passed off for a meal) I knew this by observing other peoples meals which looked 10x better than ours. My mums meal was barely warm. No one asked if our meal was ok. When confronting the staff they said 'we all have different tastes '. Awful customer service. I ordered a sauvignon blanc wine it tasted worse than house wine. Its the worst restaurant I have been to. I am sorry I paid £60 we should of just walked out.

Just before Christmas there was a 80’s night, I’m not to old but it was a little loud would definitely try another of the tributes nights though. Set menu, which although we did explain there was a vegetarian we did not receive any additional veg dish, luckily they will also eat fish. It was good to experience dishes you would not usually choose. They also came around to offer option for seconds which was a surprise. Food is always excellent here, we tend to order a takeaway when not going out.
