We were told there was a 40-minute wait for a table, but after an hour and a half of waiting and asking multiple times, we were finally seated only after threatening to leave. Despite there being empty tables and an entire room upstairs with available tables, the food took forever to arrive. My food was lukewarm when it did arrive, and my mocktail was forgotten until I asked for it to be removed from the bill. We also received the wrong dishes and waited over an hour and a half for our food after arriving at 2:15pm. As a business owner, I would have utilized the available space to serve the waiting customers and hired more staff if needed. Overall, this was the worst dining experience I have ever had, and I will not be returning. If you do choose to visit this establishment, be prepared for long waits and potentially incorrect orders. I was charged £50 for the bill, but considering the poor service, I believe it should have been comped. I am still waiting for my ketchup, which was requested 20 minutes ago. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.
My daughters and I went to this restaurant for afternoon tea to celebrate my daughters' GCSE results. Unfortunately, we had to wait for an hour for our food, which came out in pieces. I had to remind the staff three times to bring our drinks. I ordered a tea but didn't even have time to drink it because we had to take our food to go as we were running out of time. Even though I had told the waitress the time we needed to leave by, she mentioned that there was a large party in the restaurant. If we had known beforehand that it would take an hour to receive our food, we would have chosen to dine elsewhere. I had to constantly inquire about our food and was reassured each time that it was coming next, which was not the case. I would not recommend this restaurant as they clearly do not have enough staff to handle the demand.
My family and I came to this restaurant to celebrate my aunt's birthday. We were extremely disappointed with the quality of the afternoon tea. The sliders were dry and tasteless, the cheesecake seemed like it had been partially defrosted from a supermarket, the samosa chaat had an unpleasant taste, and the lasagna was lacking pasta. When we raised these concerns to the staff, they simply replied that this is how the food is made. The presentation of the afternoon tea was also disappointing. The only enjoyable part of the meal was the fries. Unfortunately, no efforts were made to address our issues or offer any kind of compensation, which is why we will not be returning. It's a shame that my aunt's birthday was ruined, especially after hearing good things about this place.
Visited for birthday afternoon tea, the “patisserie” offered no actual pastries with the 2 afternoon teas. When the afternoon teas came to the table we pointed this out straight away for the staff to rectify the issue, they replied with, “nothing we can do,this is what it is”. Got 2 cream tarts and 2 choc puddings- not very inspired! For the price we were very let down, especially as we were very excited for the birthday afternoon tea and were loyal regular customers Oh well!
Food was decent. Menu was decent. Decor decent. However... worth pointing out the owners of this place also own the dessert bar Cube. It took them about 7 years to have a card machine there. I keep hearing how the owner went to Paris and Middle east for cuisine courses, yet they must have missed any discussions about having a card reader. The young staff members apologised for the lack of a card reader, and advised to walk along the main road. I visited three cash machines and out of principle refused to be charged to take out cash. The staff apologised again saying its something the owner was considering really?! They've been operational for years now with a huge instagram following and customer base. It's blatant tax dodging, money laundering, call it whatever you like, either way it's scandalous how they do not have a cash machine when a local pop up takeaway van can have a card reader. Same situation happened in Blackburn branch too no card machine and advised to go off walking for one. Its pathetic how they expect you to go looking for a cash machine in the 21st century. The business is well established now so you can't even claim it's just opened. They're not a small business to feel sorry for and I've not bothered returning until they get a card reader.
