Heroes Grill - Bolton

Sexual activity in the toilets, drug taking, violent and aggressive customers with thuggish behaviour, very loud and rude staff ignoring customers. Male and female staff more focused on mobile phones, male staff has a BO problem. All in all a very disappointing experience, no food available, so not really a 'bar and grill '. We will not be going there again.

Not sure if it wants to be a bar or restaurant pies are good in fact prize winning but quite echoing not really relaxing .do like copper dragon which is usually available though xx

I am a pensioner I called one saturday night on my way home from a function...big mistake.. I was jostled by drunken thugs who took exception to my wearing a suit and tie.

An experience I don 't wish to repeat. Looking at past reviews I thought we would have a pleasant evening in here. Wrong! On entering we immediately felt that we were not welcome in fact the look on the waitresses faces said it all. We were asked if we wanted to eat upstairs and on seeing the room we were pleasantly surprised. The room is beautifully presented however we were asked if we wanted to look at some trinkets which were displayed at one end of the room?? We had our choice of table as we were the only diners there. The menu looked delicious and we were informed that the black pudding wasn 't available not a problem, I don 't expect that they have everything. I ordered the Camembert with red currant jelly and the heroes pie. My friends ordered prawn cocktail garlic mushrooms followed by gammon with egg and pineapple. We were then told they didn 't have pineapple with a shout from the background no eggs either! One of the waitresses then opened up a cupboard and started scratching around in the bottom of it with an exuberant I 've found one!!! So at least my friends could expect a pineapple ring. We received out starters, prawn cocktail lovely but why that came with red currant jelly I don 't know , garlic mushrooms questionable but the Camembert was horrible, it had obviously been fried in the same oil that had been used for fish. We were then told that they had found one egg and we could fight over it my friends politely refused where had it come from? . Mains arrived the gammon looked awful. We couldn 't decide if it had been boiled or microwaved as it looked anemic and the fat looked yuk so much so my friend couldn 't eat it. My award winning pie the inside was firmly stuck to the crust. I really don 't understand what was going on. The whole experience was just awful we always go for three courses but tonight Sunday we just couldn 't wait to get out. Sorry.

We entered the pub to a cacophony of noise downstairs, but thankfully the restaurant was upstairs and a lot quieter. We were the only customers in there for this 7pm slot, so the service was good. The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only slight glitch was that they only gave us a TasteCard discount on the main course when it should have been on both courses; this wasn't a great problem because we'd enjoyed ourselves.
