Contribuiți la feedbackIt supposed to be a very comfortable stay, but it turned out as the worse place we have ever stayed. First of all they gave us a dirty room. When I say dirty, it means that the room wasn 't prepared for the stay at all. After our complain, the staff apologized politely and changed the room. In both rooms there were no shampoos, conditioners, even no soap! Instead of liquid soap there was only water! The room was cold, electric heater didn 't work, and we weren 't provided with blanket until we asked. As it was presented in some site that they have a continental breakfast, but it turned out that they have the only vegan breakfast. We are not vegans, but okay. The day we wanted to give them a chance and try the breakfast, in the morning nobody was in the kitchen to help us with that, and we just went to resort that located 5 minutes away. And the last but not least is absolutely no walls between rooms. You could hear even if somebody is farting. And I 'm not kidding when I say that. We could not sleep for the all time we stayed there, because someone was talking, someone was listening to the music, etc. We could hear EVERYTHING! And woke up in the middle of the night, because of that. Overall, I don 't recommend this place to anyone even though the staff was pleasant and nice, they are very unorganized. Im still questioning how they have the rating they have.
Not as advertised. Dirty rooms. Shady unexpected expenses. The breakfast was not included. The shuttle service to the trail head turned out to be expensive and not included. The yoga studio was unusable due to a sewing project for an employee. The food was nothing special. The kombucha bar was vacant. The rooms were very dirty, the carpet seemed like it hadn 't been vacuumed in months along with the hallway. There was barely any body wash. Towels felt rough. There was even a tip jar next to the tea bags. Coming from a server who respects tipping. The vibe was off, we were hoping to meet chill like minded folks. We were hiking the long trail and wish we saved some money and slept in the woods that night. Over priced, and they were always looking for a way to up charge you, at least charge hostel rates if thats your service.
I was very diaspointed with my stay here. For the price especially. First I was brought upstairs into a room that wasn 't ready. Then I was brought to a different room with no lock. I was confused when I looked out the window and had no view because someone went out of their way to call me, months ago and offer me an upgrade with 'a better view of the mountain ' my reservation was also for a room with a balcony. The next night when I showed a member of the staff the email and discussed my confusion she had us moved and told me she would look at getting dinner comped. Two days later she did not remember this conversation at all.Their hot tub is out of order, there is no outdoor pool or maybe there is and no one would tell me about it) their Kombucha bar is out of order. No mention at any point of any 'spa services '. After wandering around the empty in for a while I did manage to find someone to wake up the yoga instructor and that was fun.Constantly felt like I was chasing people to ask for things like mugs for the tea and about literally any of the services they offerThey also went out of their way to tell me the place was ski in ski out for Bolton valley. By this they meant, we are welcome to get into our cars and drive up the road to the resort. That is not ski in ski out. I was very excited and very misled.Considering there was no tv or amenities and I paid full price for practically every meal they did comp breakfast once after I pushed) not really sure why I paid so much for this place. Very misleading
I am a little late in writing this review, however I wanted to thank David especially for such warm, welcoming accommodations when my husband and I stayed last year in October. The Lotus is located in beautiful Bolton Valley and is nestled at the top of the mountain surrounded by the reds, golds, and fiery oranges of the trees in autumn. It was peaceful, beautiful, and clean. We were welcomed by the beautiful stone fireplace with oversized cozy couches and then led around the property. Our room was clean and had a wood-burning stove inside which was perfect for the Vermont chill in early October. I also took advantage of the amenities like the hot tub and sauna. The spring water was delicious, and I enjoyed the coconut milk in my coffee in the morning. I practice yoga, so having a space was a treat while my husband dozed in front of the fireplace. We were about 15 minutes from Waterbury and Stowe so the location was ideal, because we weren’t surrounded by crowds on the busy three-day weekend. I had the opportunity converse with David in front of the fireplace during downtime, and his openness was soothing. Overall, it was an awesome retreat that I would recommend to persons who want to visit Vermont but also want space from the tourism.
