We visited this gelateria as part of a gelato tour or Bologna. It is outside of the city, but our guide took us there to meet the owner and try his product. What a special experience. He took the time to explain to us his philosophy, which is very modern and scientific, to create the best possible gelato. And most creative, with 2 and three flavors often blended together to make one incredible gelato. He gave me a whole bunch of flavours with multiple ingredients; such as Parmesan-fig, to test each with their owns layers. You could taste the flavors hitting one at a time. Extraordinary. In each flavour each new element was distinct. My son got the blackberry and the pistachio. Everything was the best to date. I had Bacio and Apricot. Both superb. Very highly recommended.
So many unique, flavor choices....I will just have to return. A scoop of chocolate rum and a scoop of zabaione for 2 Euros and my flavor palate was transported to heaven.
Fantastic flavours are created by this legend of a gelato maker. I tried apple streudel flavour: pieces of delicious, nibbly cinnamon pastry folded through crisp apple gelato. Mmm... He was also experimenting with a stracchino gelato when I went. Cheese gelato? Why not? It was **** amazing! Creamy and sweet, with notes of grass (genuinely). Those cows did good! Brave mucche. Will come back asap!
Sciroco was recommended by our Bologna pasta course chef. It was a great recommandation. Don't miss this fresh Gelato. Taste the mind blowing parmesan and figs flavor, and the best ever salted caramel.
