We have dined more than once in a wonderful restaurant opposite the National Museum in one of the beautiful brick buildings of Bogota. We decorate a pleasant view of Monserrate, we enjoyed La Moderna twice for lunch and once for dinner. The kitchen included some typical Colombian favorites, beautifully paired with the fabulous creations of the boss. My favorite was a mero-fish (grouper) with Pataken. The service is exceptional and the staff is treated You like a guest in her house. The decor is modern and the atmosphere is fun with menus printed on panels. La Moderna is open late Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and we spent our last night in Bogota dancing to authentic Salsa Tunes til 2am. Really funny place!
My husband and I just returned from a month long visit to Colombia. We dined, on more than one occasion, at a wonderful restaurant across from the National Museum in one of Bogota's beautiful brick buildings. Adorning a pleasant view of Monserrate, we enjoyed La Moderna twice for lunch and once for dinner. The cuisine included some typical Colombian favorites, nicely paired with the Chef's fabulous creations. My favoirte was a mero fish (grouper) with patacones. The service is exceptional and the staff treats you like a guest in their home. The decor is modern and the atmosphere is fun with menus printed on records. La Moderna is open late Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and we spent our last night in Bogota dancing to authentic salsa tunes til 2am. Really fun place!
