From traditional Southern favorites to creative adaptations, there's something to please every palate. The attentive and personable staff were eager to provide recommendations and accommodate any dietary preferences. I began my breakfast with a cup of their signature coffee, a robust blend that perfectly matched the homey atmosphere. Though the menu tempted me with various options, I decided on the Southern Benedict—a delightful twist that included poached eggs on a bed of crispy fried green tomatoes, topped with rich hollandaise sauce. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors, combining the tanginess of the tomatoes with the creamy hollandaise beautifully. The portions were generous, ensuring that no one leaves Plantation Cafe hungry. The grits were creamy and flavorful, reflecting the kitchen's commitment to Southern culinary traditions. The bacon was perfectly crispy, and the biscuits were a fluffy delight that nearly melted in my mouth. The service at Plantation Cafe was flawless, with the staff fostering a welcoming and relaxed vibe. Their genuine smiles and friendly conversation added a personal touch to the experience, making it feel like a home away from home. Hats off to the team at Plantation Cafe for providing a breakfast experience that not only satisfies the appetite but also warms the heart.
The hostess spoke in a whisper, which made it difficult to hear her. She needs to be more assertive in her role. We noticed that she and her partner cleaned tables, but they could do a better job—when we sat down, the floor beneath our table was dirty with crumbs and bits of napkins, as well as an empty pepper shaker. We waited quite a while before being attended to, and she wasn’t very friendly either. It was also noticeable that she went directly to other tables as soon as they were seated. Unfortunately, I don't know her name, but we were seated at a round table near the bar, closest to the restrooms. I had to inform the hostess that the ladies' room was out of toilet paper.
The service was terrible! Our waitress seemed more interested in playing with her hair while making drinks, and her coworker was at the counter picking his nose. We even had to hunt down our waitress to get our check, only to find her in a corner devouring her breakfast. Our drinks were never refilled. It was an expensive meal with unsanitary service. We won’t be returning to this place again.
We’re visiting from out of town and, based on the reviews, I thought this would be a great spot for brunch. The service was good, and the ambiance was charming. The bathroom was also quite clean. However, the food left much to be desired. While it was edible, it wasn’t great. My salad had very dry chicken that was supposed to be jerk chicken but lacked any flavor. The pineapple was clearly canned, which didn’t help the dish at all. Essentially, I had unseasoned, dried-out chicken and a spoonful of canned pineapple on a bed of perfectly fresh salad greens. The menu mentioned tortillas, but I received dried-out pita bread instead. I appreciated that the waitress brought me a replacement salad, not because it was excellent, but because it was more palatable. The Cobb salad included deli meat rather than chunks of proper meat and cheese. At least the ranch dressing was really good! That salad was decent but still not worth the price. My husband was disappointed with his breakfast sandwich; it didn't match the description. The croissant wasn’t fresh, and it was a letdown. He also tried the fried green tomatoes, which he rated 2 out of 5 and wouldn’t recommend. Overall, the flavors didn’t impress. The staff were lovely, and the place was cute, but unfortunately, I can’t recommend dining here.
