Il Baretto - Bloomington

We chose this place for silvester. what a catastrophe. we ordered our dinner at 10:30 o'clock and the first cure at 12:30 o'clock. there were many party goers who never received their food and left out with dinner. often complain directly to the manager and no help. never get a glass of water or offered. after the first drink waiter never came out of any reason again, even to check whether dinner was in order. that was by far not only the worst New Year dinner we ever had, it was the worst of any restaurant service. no offer to supplement the meal. I offered a dessert. we refused. Why wait two hours. never was so disappointed

First time I try this restaurant. The food was OK, but nothing memorable. presentation was good, but nothing remarkable. Service was OK, took a long time to get menus. We have so many new restaurant offerings that only the outstanding will remain. Il Bareto did not show anything remarkable or memorable. The dishes were the same as we see in 99% of other Italian restaurants in MTY. On Saturday night it was 20% occupied, not a good sign. Think there are better Ritalin options, some within 5 minute walk from Il Bareto.

The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, however it lacks in certain areas. The pasta was too salty and the meat was lacking in flavor. The Camarones Parmesano, on the other hand, were excellent. The service was lacking as there were only a few inexperienced staff members. A large table of 12 guests seemed to receive all the attention while the rest of us were neglected. The manager seemed more interested in pouring tequila shots for the large table than attending to other customers. Overall, for an Italian restaurant, there are better options available and I may not return.

The meat was overdue, they asked for medium rare and they brought it well cooked, it was returned to them and they returned it with a message from the chef saying that since it was a soft cut, it could not be given the desired doneness. Bad excuse, I'm not coming back.
