Puran India Restaurant - Bloomington

I recently visited puran, drawn in by the promise of ample space and a budget-friendly buffet. The restaurant certainly lived up to its reputation in terms of accommodating large crowds and offering an affordable dining option. The buffet spread, while not extravagant, provided a decent variety of dishes. While some selections were hits, particularly notable for their flavor and freshness, others fell short of expectations. The chicken curry, unfortunately, missed the mark, with a texture reminiscent of rubber. On the service front, the staff demonstrated courtesy, but there were lapses in attentiveness. It was disappointing to find that essentials like plates and water were missing from our table until we requested them. With a bit more proactive attention to diners' needs, the dining experience could have been elevated significantly. Overall, despite the hiccups, I left restaurant with a generally positive impression. There's definite potential here, and with some tweaks, the restaurant could further enhance its offerings and service. I wouldn't hesitate to return, hopeful for an even more satisfying experience next time.

For the longest time I have loved this place. Their food is delicious and staff has been friendly. Unfortunately, after our experience today, we will not be coming back to Puran. Tuesday, April 16th, my mom placed an order of Butter chicken, rice, and garlic Nann. While eating she felt a sharp pain in her tongue and the food started crunching in her teeth, only to find that a shard of white glass was in her food and cut her tongue! We called Puran immediately after it happened asking to speak with a manager and let them know what had happened with the glass. The person who answered hung up immediately and never called back. I'm so disappointed in the complete lack of professionalism, responsibility and apology from the establishment. We will not be returning and highly suggest you do the same.

Food is very good although the buffet is somewhat limited. Service is almost non-existent. Water was delivered to table for buffet service, but no one came around to check on us. Clueless wait staff. The background music is loud, repetitive and generally annoying.

Best Chicken Tikka Masala I've had in a WHILE! So creamy and the check so tender! Highly recommend.

Great food. We always get carryout, and it's well packaged and fresh. Order extra garlic naan
