The Little Mexican - Blackwood Park

I was excited about this place because it's run by the team behind The Artisan cafe, which I love. But the food was just OK. Nice and fresh but didn't have the big, exciting flavours I look for in Mexican food.

It was Ok! Just that nothing espectacular, a bit pricey for the space given it's almost just take away.

Well i rocked up and the person behind counter was chatting to a customer. Great customer service but the guy didn't order anything and i was left standing there waiting. So i ever played with my keys and tried to get recognised. Once the guy left the guy behind counter walked into kitchen. I then decided i would have nachos. So it was like thrown into container stale corn chips. Service stinks. No respect for customers. They must be making lots of money to treat customers like this.I then sat at the bench by the window to watch the location. The people coming in are all locals and now i understand why the ratings. But to be honest i would drive 1 hour for good mexican than go to a local place for very very average food. Lucky i dont live in area.Wont be back.

The food here is made fresh to order by friendly young staff who definitely know what they are doing. I love the gluten free enchilada with pulled pork as it is free range which is rare! The chicken is also free range; the owners should be proud of their ethical choices. The gluten free barramundi tacos is also yummy. My eldest daughter likes the beef burrito with all the healthy salad and rice so it definitely makes a good take away choice for the family. My youngest daughter likes the plain nachos.I would recommend this place to everyone, the food is great and well priced. I agree with one of the reviewers- a little cheaper menu exclusively for kids would be a great idea.

Overall very happy with our first experience here. Had the burrito bowl which was delicious. Salsa was nice and chilli. Good to see something new in Blackwood. Will definitely return
