El Mariachi - Blacksburg

We visited an authentic Mexican restaurant for an early dinner on Saturday, where I ordered the enchilada combo. The service was outstanding, and our food was served quickly. Everything was incredibly delicious. I will definitely return the next time I'm at VA Tech.

Those five-star reviews are misleading. The food is not good, and the service is lacking as well. It seems that the lack of other restaurant options in the area is the only reason people eat here. The food is quite unappetizing.

I found this restaurant to be extremely disappointing and believe it shouldn't even be open. The quality of the Mexican food is subpar, especially since I've been enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine my entire life. For those who might not understand Spanish, it’s also uncomfortable to hear the staff speaking about customers loudly amongst themselves.

El Mariachi is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the New River Valley. Service is very fast and friendly, the food tastes great, serving sizes are large, and the prices are low. I enjoyed the shrimp fajitas and my boys loved the taco salad. They even serve lunch specials on the weekend! My family and I will definitely be back.
