The lo mine is fresh and not too oily, and the Udon soup is surprisingly good for a place that does not specialize in Japanese style food. delivery has been better received by MUCH in recent years; it never takes too long to get more food. All in all, a firm place for Chinese takeout that is fresh and tasty.
The typical American menu is good, but you should ask for the Chinese menu. There are many more options, and while they're more expensive, the quality and taste is worth it. Portions of the Chinese menu are large and come with rice, so share a plate and try something new. I recommend the Cumin beef, Five Flavor Chicken, Fried Salty Chicken, and you really can't go wrong with the Chicken Lo Mein if you like American Chinese fare. I've never gotten delivery, but eating in and picking up has always been a pleasant experience.
I searched for Chinese restaurants on Google Maps and found this place while visiting Vermont. I ordered beef fried rice and a beef sizzling plate to go. The portion sizes are generous, but the prices are a bit higher than other Chinese restaurants I’ve visited across the country, including those in New York City. The sizzling plate is visually impressive but lacks flavor, while the fried rice is just average. On the bright side, the service is very friendly. Since there aren’t many Chinese dining options in Vermont, I would recommend this restaurant to others. Update (2018-04-11): The quality of the dining-in food is much better than the take-out. The portions are huge. I give it four stars.
However, I was disappointed during one of my visits when they charged more for the larger portions. I thought they had increased their prices. The next time I called to place a to-go order, I asked about the small portion price, and the person on the phone responded that it was the price for the large portion when I inquired further. It seemed like a miscommunication because he promptly said that I would be getting a large size. This was my only negative experience, and it's possible that their prices increased due to COVID-19, or perhaps I misunderstood the situation. I haven't ordered since then, but I still believe China Inn is a great little business. They offer generous portions for a very reasonable price, and I would highly recommend them!
I have been dining at China Inn since I arrived in Tech in 2014, and it offers the finest Chinese cuisine in the area. It's one of the few restaurants where everyone in our group can agree on where to eat. Despite the challenges posed by COVID, the food remains excellent. As a family-owned establishment, they are always polite and quick to resolve any mistakes with orders.
