We have just had a really delicious dinner at Mamma Mia, Brighton Road, Purley. I had the Halibut, stuffed with prawns and risotto and my husband had calf liver and bacon. Both very well worth considering. We shall be dining there again, good value and a nice atmosphere.
The Olive Tree Brasserie in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire is a great find. There is seating outside but being dark, cold and wet we decided to sit inside. It's a small intimate place which was a little noisy as a result but don't let this put you off. The food is fantastic that is presented with a certain flair. The service was good. If you live in the area or are visiting then be sure to book your table and sample.
Great time enjoying a Bottomless brunch bought for my Christmas present last year!! Well worth the wait enjoyed delicious food and cocktails looked after by the friendly team. Thank you
Seated promptly as the restaurant was empty when we arrived early evening. We were given a range of menu’s. We selected the goats cheese and the falafel. They arrived promptly but barely warm. The server recommended the festive menu, turkey kebabs, cranberry, stuffing balls, pigs in blankets and roast potatoes. Very disappointed with the whole meal. Overseasoned to the point of being salty, potatoes rewarmed, dry stuffing ball, salty pigs in blankets. I managed the kebab only with the aid of the cranberry sauce. Side of vegetables yet again seasoned to death. I let the server know my thoughts. He jokingly said that he would ‘slap the chef’. Coffee and the glass of beer we ordered were good. When given the bill I was asked to complete a survey. The festive menu wasn’t even on it. Which I again pointed this out to our server. He said just put that you had ‘a sausage roll’ and shot off to another table. Beware that the service charge is already on the Bill which wasn’t mentioned when it was presented to us.
Called in for lunch and didnt initially notice how cold it was in the restaurant, it was only really after we ordered we started to feel it. We ordered a mixed grill for two which was excellent, venue really smart and staff efficient and friendly. We would have stayed for a dessert but by this time the cold was really starting to bite, we noticed several other customers well wrapped up in an effort to keep warm. The final insult was a service charge on the bill, not only do the owners expect me to pay the staffs wages but sit in the freezing cold for the privilege. The owners should be embarrassed people were dining in here wearing hats and coats, shame full and does not deserve business.
