Denny's - Black River Falls

It seems that as of February 16, Denny's in Black River Falls has permanently closed. All signage has been removed, and it doesn’t appear to be just a temporary closure. According to Denny's Headquarters, the restaurant is no longer in operation.

The food and service exceeded our expectations. We absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. It's a fantastic spot to take my family for lunch.

I just had one of the worst dining experiences of my life at this restaurant that specializes in country fried steak. To start, I learned that they now close at 6 PM, but while we were waiting in line, they were still accepting to-go orders. I should have taken that as a sign to leave. The salad was wilted and the ranch dressing was so thin that it couldn’t even stick to the lettuce. As for the fries—there were only nine of them, and they weren't crispy at all. Who enjoys soggy, floppy fries? The steak was essentially a thin, processed meat patty that was tough and difficult to chew. The gravy was similarly diluted and tasteless, resembling cloudy water. And why do restaurants near truck stops feel the need to overcharge truckers? A garden salad for $6.95 that’s only the size of a softball? You've definitely lost my business at this location.

PERMANENTLY CLOSED! Dennys is entirely vacant inside, and the signs have been taken down from the exterior of the building. Employees at Flying J have confirmed this information.

The service was excellent, and the food was served hot and promptly. I also appreciate their support for veterans by offering a complimentary breakfast on Veterans Day.
