Al's Diner - Birmingham

The food took 2 hours to come due, delivery driver very rude but the manager called and gave us a freebie which was nice however the classic hot dog i ordered didn’t even come with onions, the bun was soggy and the burger was disappointing to say the least. Garlic bread was burnt and soggy. Curly fries were the best part of the meal!

When I placed my order online, I called to confirm the collection time. The man who answered simply said hello without an introduction, so I had to make sure I had the right restaurant - Als Diner. He confirmed I did. When I placed my order online, I was disappointed to find out that there were no lamb chops available. And when I went to pick up my order, they informed me they only had curly fries left, not the regular fries I had wanted. How does a restaurant run out of fries? It's baffling to me. I was even more unhappy when I tried the curly fries - they were soft and limp instead of crispy. Please keep your website updated with inventory levels and never run out of fries - it's a basic mistake. I have never in my life been told a restaurant is out of fries.

Looks cute from the outside but not great for eating in. Today it looked like there was only one server who was struggling with the orders so service was slow (fair enough when running the whole cafe on your own). However, the menu descriptions did not at all match the food that was served. The hotdog came without any onions despite the menu saying it would and the set of 8 onion rings turned out to be only 4. The menu also has options for 1 can of coke or 1 bottle of coke charged at different prices. We assumed the bottle would be larger due to the price increase however both were 330ml. This should have been clearly stated on the menu. Not very impressed- wont be returning.

Yet again didn’t fail to impress. Lovely manhattan gourmet burgers. Very filling. The meat is very good quality. And decently priced.

This restaurant truly excels in preparing high-quality food, especially their handcrafted beef burgers. Their gourmet burgers are incredibly satisfying and offer a wide range of options. In comparison to other burger places on Ladypool Road, this restaurant stands out significantly. If it were located on Ladypool Road, it would surely thrive. The staff genuinely care about their customers and provide excellent service without the typical attitude problems often seen in busier establishments.
