Contribuiți la feedbackI was taking a bus from Binghamton and grabbed their homemade chili and lentil soup to go. Both were delicious. The chili was amped by the addition of garbanzo beans and... cilantro? The lentil contained a chopped spicy sausage and lots of greens. Both perfect for anyone doing slow carb. And the service was great! The waitress knew I was catching a bus and was super-efficient. Will now go back to try more!
While waiting for my food; I heard the waiter tell a customer “decide what you what, because I’m not gonna play this guessing game” and she walked away. I also heard the cook tell the waiter: “don’t give me another order while I’m already doing one.” They either need another cook or she needs to learn how to make more than one thing at a time. Also what the waiter said to that customer was very rude and uncalled for. She needs a change of attitude. I had a chicken bone in my food when all I ordered was eggs, turkey bacon and fries. I also ordered mozzarella sticks which I never received. Other than that the food wasn’t bad.
Great breakfast! wonderful staff, great location. really good!
I had a great breakfast! The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. I will definitely be returning!
First, let's talk about the unique location. Val’s Diner is situated within a bus terminal, making it a convenient choice for travelers either arriving from a bus trip or departing on one. I love that they announce bus schedules right in the diner. Customers can hear these announcements over the loudspeaker, which is perfect for those enjoying a meal without the worry of missing their bus. Next is the atmosphere, which embodies everything you would expect from a classic diner. With sky blue walls, vintage-style flooring, and backless bar stools, it captures the essence of what a diner represents. While the seating is limited, it likely won’t feel overcrowded given its location within a bus terminal. During my visit for breakfast, I ordered an omelet, toast, and a coffee. The food was served promptly and tasted fresh and delicious. The jelly was in convenient packets, which I added to my toast, alongside a dab of ketchup on my home fries. I polished off my meal in no time and left feeling satisfied. While diners aren’t as common as other types of restaurants, they have a certain charm that makes them a delightful alternative to the usual dining experience. Val’s Diner is a fantastic place for breakfast or lunch, especially for those traveling by bus. Even if you're not catching a bus, Val’s Diner is a great choice for a simple meal. I’m so glad I discovered this welcoming spot here in Binghamton, New York.
