I ordered chilli con carne and it was the best I've ever had at any restaurant worldwide. It was served in a clay pot with a lid and accompanied by a little bowl of boiled rice and a basket of warm flour tortillas and crispy tortilla chips. Absolutely superb. My husband had the classic burger with chips, it was a homemade burger which was dressed with fresh salad and cheese. The waiter was so friendly and efficient. 40€ Including 1 glass of wine and 2 bottles of Carlsberg. Would definitely return. Try it ! Head towards the beach and it's on the left tucked in behind another restaurant.
It was a Sunday evening on our whistle stop tour north. It was the middle of June. We were having a glass of rose trying to decide where to have dinner when we spotted the restaurant sign. The name is the name of "the baddie" from Herges Adventures of TinTin! It is situated behind another restaurant. We decided to try it and we were not disappointed. It has a ski lodge feel with old beams and lots of cushions - very comfortable. Our waiter was extremely charming and informative. And finally the food - delicious a combination of local ingredients and a few unusual Asian dishes. The wine as always in France didnt disappoint. We finished the evening at the bar and sampled the local apple liqueur a lovely evening you should try it
After having read good reviews much husband and I decided to try Dr Muller Pergulosi.Wish we hadn't. To be fair the service was good, we were welcomed by a young waiter who spoke very good English. My husband ordered the fish and chips which the waiter said was a good choice and I ordered the Cesar salad. When the meals arrived my salad looked and tasted okay but my husband's fish was tiny and burnt. I was going to send it back but my husband is not one to make a fuss and said no. So not to start an argument I kept quiet. The wine I ordered seemed like a very cheap one and not that enjoyable. The only saving grace was the cheesecake which was quite nice. The bill came to 46 euros which was not worth it. Will not be visiting again. In the reviews it says this place is frequented by the young who I suppose will eat food which is not particularly good quality but will go there on DJ nights. Surely there must be a fantastic place to eat in Biarritz. Perhaps we will try the Hotel du Palais next. Rather pay the extra and eat well.
