Kiyokawa Japanese - Beverly Hills

I am having really hard time to rate this restuarant ! We went for omakase like most of reviews and blogs and also waiter suggested . All five stars for presentation and creativity. Each dish came with unique artistic presentation . Hands down A+. However I am not so sure I can say the same about flavor and taste of each coarse. That said food gets solid B . All together it was not a bad experience . Would I go back? No.

I really wished we had sat at the bar, because Sato-san seems like an artist at work from afar. He appears to work at a meticulous pace, taking his time with precise cutting and strongly emphasizing the plating.

I'm so glad I finally made it to Kiyokawa. I can already see myself returning here time and time again. The service was courteous and prompt. The courses was paced properly and I did not have to sit around waiting for long. I never had Kiyokawa's original kaiseki-style omakase, but I loved the new sashimi-style menu and thought that at $78, it was one of the better deals you can find in town.
