La Bottega Di Assu - BEVAGNA

A restaurant should be more than just what's on your plate and the nice scenery around it. La Bottega was recommended by our B&B host, so we went there for a nice experience… Unfortunately. If you need to beg why it takes so long to have your bottle of Sagrantino wine on the table long after the appetizers arrived ‘we don’t find the bottle’ , why my meal arrives long after my wife has finished her’s, why we can’t have the bill because the chef is too busy in the kitchen, it is really sad because actually the food was good. Things can go wrong for whatever reason but communicate, explain and apologise to your customer or accept a poor review. There are plenty of similar alternatives in Bevagna like Le Barbatelle where the total experience is just sublime, so please get your service right. The food and the place is promising, just fix all the rest, your kitchen really deserves this.

Very disappointing. What could have been a delightful aperitivo with excellent wine was ruined by the rude and unfriendly service. We were two couples with two dogs, and we were made to feel very unwelcome, despite our dogs being well-behaved. If you don’t want dogs in your bar, don’t accept them! From the moment we arrived it seemed like serving us was too much trouble instead of being a service we were paying for! Unacceptable way to treat customers!

I have never visited such an amazing little cafe/restaurant. Inside is full of books, objects, pictures and wine, all packed into a small characterful place in a marvellous village in Umbria. The pasta served to our party of 10 was wonderful. The menu is small but if you're in the area, check it out! Be amazed!

A meeting during the visit to beverage, already the showcase attracts attention with exhibition of ceramics and dense population of books that I see the shelves, to conquer the kindness of those who welcome you. the narrow space both inside and outside is amplified by hospitality . few dishes, simple and goose, local wines chosen carefully. compulsory choice for book lovers but not only.
