We will definitely be returning in the future. Its byob. Its not limited to just wine. You can bring whatever you prefer to drink.
I never leave reviews but had to because i was so impressed with this evenings meal. The service is phenomenal. Everything we ordered was incredible. We will be back and I recommend this as one of the best meals you can have in Pittsburgh. I had the mussels, the crab bisque, and the pasta G. My wife had the beet salad, and the lobster fra diavolo. 10/10 each course was timed perfectly. Thank you to the staff for a lovely evening
We went here for lunch. Our server was the owner, Gina. Everything that we had was delicious. I had Frito misto. It was shrimp and calamari with a little bit of sriacha sauce. My husband got a barbacoa quesadilla. Everything was good.
We went to the previous restaurant The Plate and we went with high expectations as before, however, we are totally disappointed. We ordered crab cakes, pork chop and the special lobster linguini. So when the food came, it was lobster lasagna. The pork chops were under cooked. They brought it back to the oven to re-cook it. So if you do a little Google on raw pork, Rare pork is undercooked. Both uncooked or raw pork and undercooked pork are unsafe to eat. Meat sometimes has bacteria and parasites that can make you sick. Thorough cooking kills any germs that might be present. Honestly I do not understand how they would think this is acceptable. The potato dumpling is kind of a joke as it has no taste and the texture is rubbery, like chewing a rubber. Lastly we ordered Brownie with ice cream and peanut butter, it looks horrible with lines of so called peanut butter, ice cream just a normal single scoop with some cream on top. So in conclusion, this restaurant has no heart of cooking food, but their price doesn 't reflect what they serve. And The Plate is way better.
I must admit that I personally search the internet for restaurants that peak my curiosity. I found a cozy, quaint and all so welcoming place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 404. I have a deep appreciation for great food and atmosphere. The 404 is the perfect place for a date night. It is The First Restaurant I have found that allows you to bring your own bottle of wine. What a novel concept! There is a $10.00 corkage fee for every bottle opened. The food portions are quite large; so, bring your appetite. Also, if you share an entree, there is an additional charge for that. The 404 has ample free parking. Don't fret, if you can't finish your meal, they will box it up for you. Enjoy the left overs for lunch the next day at work. While your co-workers eat their mundane meals, you can enjoy a 1st class lunch! I brought my bottle of Beringer Moscoto wine. It paired very well with my Ceasar Salad and Pasta G entrée. Check out the menu items of their website. You should see something that you would like and then find a wine that would complement your selection. Don't forget to call to make your reservations.
