Bradford's Grub Grog - Berthoud

Stopped in for a quick bite. Wings are amazing. Met Chef Hannah, great person. Lucas the bar tender was amazing.

I'm not sure what happened to this place. The food used to be good and hot. The salad bar used to be stocked full of yummy salad options. The food tonight was garbage. Instant mashed potatoes, and canned and frozen peas are totally unacceptable. My steak teriyaki bowl was like a gross soup and didn't even come with the contents noted in the menu, and was cold. The rice wasn't completely cooked and tasted terrible. Out of our party of 6, 4 of us currently aren't feeling well. I used to go here often, but now, I will never be back. It's a shame, the staff is nice and I'd prefer to support local. I hate complaining but for the price we paid for dinner, I am so disappointed. Even my favorite drink PB&J Old Fashion was awful and half the size it used to be. The only reason I gave 2 star is because the staff was nice.

If I had reviewed this restaurant six months ago, it would have easily received a full five-star rating. But everything has changed since then! The menu has been completely overhauled, and unfortunately, the updates are not an improvement. The food is only mediocre at best. I'm not a fan of frozen vegetables, small steaks, bland dishes, or an inferior salad bar. All the elements that used to make Bradford’s so great have been replaced, and it's disappointing. It seems like Bradford’s is losing—or has already lost—its loyal local customers. Doesn’t anyone in the business care?

I am disappointed that the new ownership believes it's acceptable to serve instant potatoes and canned vegetables. Our family of three ended up spending over $100. When I was asked about the food, I honestly replied that it wasn't as good as it used to be. The waiter mentioned that several customers had expressed similar sentiments, and that they plan to launch a new menu soon. While I prefer to support local businesses, it's really disheartening that the current management considers their food to be satisfactory. I cannot recommend this restaurant for a family meal.

Fast forward to our second visit just a few weeks ago. My dad’s sandwich also came with mayo, despite his request for none. One family member ordered fish tacos, which arrived drenched and soggy—completely unappetizing. I had ordered brisket nachos, but they waited until everyone else had received their meals to tell me they were out of brisket. I was left waiting while the rest of the table dug into their food. My wife and mother chose meals that included salads but had to wait at the salad bar for someone to assist them, only to find out that they were out of lettuce. On a positive note, the chicken fried chicken was delicious, and the wings were excellent. The staff also seemed genuinely apologetic during our second visit.
