Contribuiți la feedbackHey Yelp peeps! This is a really cool old-school candy store. They have all sorts of candy, both past present, as well as candy baking supplies. You will most likely find what you're looking for as well as a little bit of nostalgia! They also sell homemade goodies like jams, honey, hot sauces, snacks, fudge, confections, ice cream there's even a little bakery in the back. I was so excited to find some string licorice, candy sticks Dots! For the most part, they are reasonably priced with a few exceptions you can find unique, nostalgic candies as well as your common candy. As always, please support a local small business. They are definitely worth the visit! Peace, love blessings!
Liked this. Cute place. A nice variety too, but during this covis epidemic, customers shouldn't be allowed to handle the loose bins of candy themselves. Please, where are your minds and best safety practices for your customers?
A wonderful shop that brings out the kid in you. As an implant to America (I was born in the UK), I grew up with Woolworths or Wollies. It had the grand daddy of pick and mix sweets. It was a delight to go there choose between the hundreds of different sweets.... *salivates* Candyland brought back those memories and I had a great time choosing this candy over that candy, looking at the old fashioned candies that you can 't buy in normal shops any more. Charleston Chew, Bit o honey... Then onto the 'gourmet ' chocolates and fudge... again a great selection that I had to buy. Both for a treat for 'she who must be obeyed ' and a little something for myself. They were great in case you were wondering. The chocolate raspberry swirl fudge was a delight. They also serve ice cream here, if it were a warmer day I would have bought some. But it was chilly and I didn 't want to come across as a complete glutton. Shame this place is so far away. It shouldn 't be in Thurmont, it should be in Frederick, so I can binge more often. Oh well...
Stopped to see if the liqueur store had a particular hard bottle to find back home. Young man was very helpful but they were out of stock. No problem bought a ice tea on my way out. No small bills, I apologized to the Older female cashier, she smiled acknowledged she was giving me $98 in change as she shorted me $50 only giving me $48 in a mess of odd bills instead. My fault for not counting it, but beware of this business.
We stopped here after lunch at the nearby Shamrock Restaurant and a visit to the nearby Catoctin Mountain Orchard. Candyland was fun to visit and the variety of packaged candy is extensive. Prices are reasonable. We were specifically looking for rain forest frog gummies and found them! It was fun to browse the products and we saw a lot of folks getting homemade ice cream cones which they offer as well. There is a liquor store attached to the Candyland on one side and a gift store called At Home Primitives on the other side. The gift store was also fun to browse, although I found it a little pricey.
