Vapiano Berlin Alexanderplatz

Great place for lunch. Nice concept. Large variety of dishes and gluten free dishes. Pasta, pizza etc. Suitable for children.

We came here for our last meal of our holiday and we were expecting it to be better than it was. There was a long queue for the pizza because there's only one station to get it. After ordering, there was a long wait before the pizza was cooked. In the time it took to order and wait for the pizza, you're able to order a pasta dish and almost finish it. The food was nice once you got it, but not worth the wait.

Don't even want to give a 1! The restaurant set up is like a school cafeteria and just a mess of a system. We sat down, there was no drinks menus so we just decided to go queue for food but there was no order to it whatsoever. People were everywhere. Then we saw the lasagne someone had and it literally looked like a ready meal, even in the little black plastic boxes. That was it for us, we left straight away and didn't even order anything.

We visited Vapiano Berlin last year were we enjoyed a great meal and so on our latest holiday back to this vibrant city we couldn't wait to revisit here again. This is a novel but sometimes weird concept to ordering your meals by choosing your meals from a scan card handed to you ,it's sometimes extremely frustrating as waiting for a meal can take an age.On our latest visit to Vapiano we were allowed to go straight to the bar area were we ordered Krombacher beer as we had just ate so no long queues for us,a shame really as I really enjoy the food especially the pizza options.The beer was outstanding and it was just so nice being in such a wonderful restaurant enjoying a refreshing beer and planning out the day ahead. We moved on after our delicious beers and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Vapiano Berlin is easy to find on Rathausstraße by Alexanderplatz were busses ,trams,Ubahn and trains drop you off.Opening hours are;Monday to Sunday,11am till Midnight. A great restaurant and bar and well worth checking out.

We have dined many times at VaPiano, and kind of like the concept. But never have I seen such a disorganized place. Okay, you get in line for lets say pizza. Suddenly all service stops. Nobody is doing anything, just walking around, talking, waiting - for no reason. I thought maybe the pizza oven is full. But no - they took out 5-6 pizzas, stuck them on a plate and then - nothing. after about 15 minutes they were served, and 2 people came back to complain about cold pizza. Just to find that the guy did not speak english or german...Finally got to order, 35 minutes later. Same guy. No english, no german. I ordered two pizzas, he said "No pasta". I said "pizza! Pizza Crudo". He went "what you want?" Finally another guy took over, and after 30 more minutes we had out pizzas.This is just a disorganized mess. Stay away, or be prepared to wait. And don¨t hope to be understood in english or german.
