Contribuiți la feedbackWe came for a friends birthday and sat in the corner. We got 6 different slices of cake. I loved the new flavors I was trying. My favorite was the one with the rice pudding. Our server was so sweet and lovely and gave us a little candle got the birthday. Each cake slice us around 6€
It is a neat place with lots of food options and some awesome desserts. I ordered a coffee and chose the New York Cheesecake as it looked a bit different from the other New York Style cheesecakes I've had. This slice looked denser than the other New York Style cheesecakes I had seen. Upon shaving the first piece I knew that this was going to be thicc. It was a solid cheesecake, not packed with sugar, and kept a consistent smooth texture. Overall this was not a stand out but still not a bad one. Next time im in the area I plan on trying some of their other options!
If Anna Blume is busy...the crowd flocks to Sowohlalsauch. (Yes, I will not try to say the name 3x fast...or really even, 1x fast . It was a terribly dreary day in Berlin, a Sunday morning fit for curling up with a newspaper and cup of tea and staying in bed. However, when one has company in town for a short while, there is a compulsion to fill each moment with experiences that will be memorable. As much as I love curling up and hibernating (and even find it necessary ...it's really not entirely memorable. To my shock, Berliners are not stopped by the rain. No, indeed they just spread the awnings wide to shelter the patio-dwelling brunchers and carry on with life. Good on ya, folks, good on ya. I'll join! With no particular destination in mind, we stopped into Sowohlalsauch (hereby referred to as Sowo . It was comfortably buzzing, with almost each table inside and out filled with warm conversation, mugs of coffee, cups of tea and plates of German brunch pleasantries. I stuck with the regular cappuccino, my mom branched out to try the carmel latte machiatto, which is a clear winner. They have many fancy coffee drinks, surely worth a look on the menu. For brunch: The Brandenburger (traditional fare, rolls, meats, cheese, butter, fresh jam, cucumbers, grapes, etc and a bowl of musli, yogurt, fresh fruit (with a gooseberry! to split. Heaping servings, quite large and tasty... All for roughly 20 euros. A nice deal, a warm place, pretty OK service (not the friendliest, not the worst ....so get out of bed, bring your paper or your friend and enjoy your summer Sunday with the Berlin crowd, then walk the short distance to Mauerpark for the flea market. There's the day for you, memorable in itself!
Great Kuchen! Can be crowded but cosy atmosphere. Very good coffee. Haven't tried a lot of the food offerings but look good.
Excellent food, great for breakfast or brunch. They also make a wide selection of incredible cakes and tortes, which they also supply to Anna Blume cafe across the street. This is popular with locals and can be busy, but worth it. Two of us had (different) large sampler plates of various German cheeses, sausages, ham, etc., with a basket of freshly baked breads and a dish of housemade jam that changes seasonally. One friend had excellent scrambled eggs with ham. Coffee was very good.
