San Marino - Berlin

We visit this restaurnt once a year. We are very disappointed now. For the first time it felt like a tourist trap. The meat did not taste anything at all. The pasta was overcooked and tasteless. The service was non-existing. When complaining it was like talking to a stone wall. They were not interested at all. The waiter asked me 3 times if 61 Euro was OK and I said OK all 3 times. I guess he was waiting for tips. When he did not get any tips he screamed "61 Euros" all over the restaurant to the other waiters. This was the first time he spoke english with the other waiters... So very sad. This used to be our favourite place in Berlin, but never again.

Wir waren zur Mittagspause mit Kollegen hier essen, und haben zu unschlagbaren Preisen ein Mittagsmenü gegessen mit 4(!) Gängen plus Bruschetta. Dazu gab es noch einen Brotkorb mit ciabatta. Alle Gänge wurden ansprechend serviert und waren geschmacklich einwandfrei (Suppe, Salat, Hauptgang und Dessert).Es waren viele Stammkunden hier, die Bedienung war stets aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Alles in allem sensationell zu diesem Preis. Wir werden des Öfteren kommen und danken für den ausgezeichneten Lunch.

We arrived in Berlin at the end of a whirlwind trip to France and Germany, tired and soaked to the bone. We happened upon San Marino after venturing just a short distance from our hotel. The staff was friendly, attentive, and, fortunately for us, spoke English well, as we were too tired at this point to use our very limited German language skills. The food and wine were excellent, and, this may sound odd but when traveling with a Verizon international plan rather than a European SIM card and having to hoard data, the wi fi was much appreciated when trying to catch up with email and texts.We ended up at San Marino four evenings in a row and were never disappointed. We would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again in the future.

This restaurant is on Savignyplatz in the west of the city. I visited on a warm June evening and it was pleasant to sit outside and watch the bustle of people passing by.It seemed a very typical Italian place, with friendly service and a nice atmosphere. I had a beer, caprese salad and pizza for about 20 euros.

Auf der Suche nach Nahrung sind wir zufällig auf diesen Italiener getroffen. Die Pizza war echt richtig lecker. Schön dünner Teig! Der Kellner war ein wenig verwirrt, aber teilweise gespielt und sehr freundlich. Alle waren sehr aufmerksam und vom Preis und der Qualität her war alles echt sehr gut.
