Contribuiți la feedbackThe service is rude, people working there are Vietnamese not Japanese. The food is very bad (horrible sushi and rolls). I told the rude waitress twice, please, that I don't want a ginger on one of my sushi roles when my dishes arrived, guess something. Yep Ginger!!! This was one of the worst Asian restaurants I've ever visited in Berlin. I was so upset that I didn't give them a single cent for a tip.
I traveled to Berlin and a local brought me to Ishin and said it was one of the best Japanese restaurants in the neighborhood. I live in Japan during my childhood and traveled from time to time to Japan, so I am quite an expert for Japanese food. Ishin, I must say, has a unique taste experience that can still be enjoyed by most, those who know not authentic Japanese foods that is not surprising as I am aware that the cheaper/affordable Japanese restaurants in Japan have taste. So yes, if you really want to try authentic Japanese cuisine, then this restaurant is not right for you, but if you still want to enjoy Asian fusion food (the people in the restaurant don't even speak Japanese, or Chinese they spoke Thai or Vietnamese I think? Probably more Vietnamese), why not? By the way, I visited a long time ago, back in July 2017. Probably the same now. I'm starting to write reviews.
I work pretty close to this place and I often go there or arrange for lunch. The food is average, nothing bad or nothing special, but the lack of kindness by the staff makes me consider this choice. Even if I pay, they hardly look at my face and make things worse when I say thank you or good bye everything I get is empty faces that tell me to close and disappear as if I just killed her mother. That's really incredible. A great thanks to their manager who always jumps in to fix some unfortunate situations caused by their employees who are incapable of human relations.
Food is OK, but the plates are small? Could have been even more tasty. Not so impressed by the establishment. Cooks were sitting outside smoking, going in and out. Still OK for quick meal.
Went there 2 times in a week. They have happy hour until 4 pm. The rice bowl with salmon, omelette and salmon caviar is very good, very fresh. The price is adequate for the meal (rice bowls range from 6euros to 12 euros) and they offer a cup of green tea which tou can refill for free. They have several combinations of sushi also. When in Berlin I will go back there for sure.
