Bette's Oceanview Diner - Berkeley

We drove 30 minutes to try Bette's and it was worth the wait for a table. We tried their seasonal pancake soufflé, which was unique and delicious. The scrapple was also a standout dish, crispy on the outside and full of flavor. Our server was attentive and friendly, making our dining experience even better. Overall, Bette's offers great food and service in a nice neighborhood, perfect for some window shopping afterwards. I highly recommend making a trip to Bette's!

Cons: There is usually a wait, but I can't really count this as a negative. The restaurant is popular, so a wait is to be expected. Additionally, the restaurant is located in a nice area with plenty of shops to explore while waiting. My only real complaint is the bathroom situation. With only one bathroom for a breakfast place, it can get crowded and messy. Mixing coffee with breakfast food mid-morning in a single bathroom is a recipe for disaster. Bette's really needs to invest in expanding their bathroom space.

Flawless dining experience at Bette's. Every dish I ordered was prepared exactly to my liking. The pancakes were perfectly cooked, not runny in the center like other places. The bacon was just the right amount of crispy as requested. My sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly. The fruit plate was beautifully presented, showing the skill of a professional chef. All the hot dishes were served piping hot. In contrast, a previous breakfast experience at another restaurant was a disaster with incorrect orders and poorly cooked food. Bette's attention to detail and quality made me realize why it is worth visiting a restaurant like this, where everything is done right. Anyone who considers themselves a breakfast expert should take a lesson from Bette's before opening their own establishment.

Hands Down best breakfast on the Planet. Including Parisian Bistros. Bette 's Oceanview Diner has been serving 5 Star more like 10 'S Cuisine style Food since 1982. I am a seasoned cook and have never had a better breakfast, even at the Ritz. They still are committed to excellence in preparation thoughtful service. I've been going to Bette's for 30+ years and have never had a bad breakfast or lunch. The food is delicious and the place is just fun to visit!
