This restaurant lies opposite our hotel la cour du bailli, where we had a prepared dinner. because of the booking of a week in advance, they had taken the traditional love-in-red-wine-sause-stone as a net. delicious, they needed only one spoon to eat and the last scrub sauce from the plate with a little broth to wipe. althoug the entree of the snails in butter and crumbled were also very tasty and french, it was quite heavy. maybe a carpaccio of filet fumee with goat cheese would have been better. the desert court is a combination of several mini deserts, although the financial agreement was a glass wee with each curs, it seemed that the desert was not considered such.
Just asking about what wine they have was enough to get the waitress to be bad tempered. Eventually we got a bottle of wine that we had to pour ourselves. We ordered 2 flammenkuche with a salad (3€ . We got two rather mediocre plates. The...salad was literally only salad. No vinegar, nothing but salad, not even properly cleaned. This is a tourist trap, if ever I’ve seen one.
Do stop by this place, if you are i Bergheim. Seats are limited, so I Do recommend to book in advance. The food is very good, service i excelent, and a small, cosy place. I always eat here, when I’m in Bergheim. They are normally...closed monday and tuesday.
Our lives seem to be centred around googling the right restaurant, the right tourist attraction, the right hotel on this occasion I pleased to say good old instinct still works a treat. The venue in a delightfully located surround by plane trees and local quaint...Alsacian architecture. The food is typically Alsacian but you can find something lighter on the menu. The choice of wine is delightful and so are the desserts. This has now become our regular lunchtime cycling stop off point when we are enjoying our regular cyles through the vineyards.
