(My uncle was quite stubborn that I didn't hire my critique here, because he wants to keep it a... well kept secret! we said it was very French, but worth a visit. I think we were the first visitors of the season as we were the only diners. the menu is in French so they need an understanding and be able to order French. a l’auberge in france is where the restaurant has to sell or eat it produced to classify a l’auberge. delphine and david were beautiful hostess, they have many different birds, and that's what the menu consists of. at the arrival we were served sangria', which was more like a sweet sherry that we had menu choices, one was the other euro, they will be an aperitif (sangria) then suppe, then salat, then in the regular a vogelmahlzeit, cheese, dessert, coffee and a karaffe wein pro person, all for the incredible person price of euro the suppe was a sweet soup, there were different salads on each menu to choose from, or different nets on each. my mother and I are not sharp on raw meat, so were recommended to go for the duck jam, I am as happy as it was absolutely beautiful, it just fell out of the bone, it was served with tasty kartoffels and beef, we were served a plate with different French cheese, and a nice type of tart that had aprikosen up, and a coffee, all of them. they can also buy homemade products from delphine. it is really worth a visit if they are in the lougratte area of bergerac, and they need to book, I can not recommend this little gem very enough.

Not knowing what to expect we were very pleasantly surprised. We were told it was very French, but worth a visit. I think we were the first visitors of the season as we were the only diners there. The menu is in French, so you will need an understanding and be able to speak French to order. A L'auberge in France is where the restaurant has to sell 90 or 95% of the food it produces to be able to be classed a L'auberge. Delphine and David were lovely hosts, they have many different birds, and this is what the menu consists of. On arrival we were served sangria which was more like a sweet sherry, the we had 2 menu choices, one was 20euros, the other 22 euros, you are served an aperitif (sangria) then soup, then salad, then usually a bird meal, cheese, dessert, coffee and 1/2 a carafe of wine per person, all for the unbelievable price of 20 or 22 euros per person. The soup was a vegetable one, there were 4 different salads on each menu to choose from, 4 or 5 different mains on each. My mum and I are not keen on raw meat so were advised to go for the duck confit, I am so glad as it was absolutely beautiful, it just fell off the bone,it was served with delicious potatoes and beans, we were served a plate with 2 different French cheeses, and a lovely kind of tart that had apricots on top, and a coffee, all made by Delphine and David. You can also buy home made produce made by Delphine. It is really worth a visit if you are in the Lougratte area of Bergerac, and you will need to book, I cannot recommend this little gem highly enough.
