Levante - Benidorm

Let me start by saying that I always compare the standard for the resort and not the standard we are used to at home, and whilst Mojacar generally would be a more ‘relaxed’ standard than other resorts, this restaurant was terrible. The only good thing it had going for it was the position and the view. I would avoid like the plague, there are many other better options within a five minute walk, Bellavista, Marlons, Aurora (slightly further down), which knock this place into the one star review. The service was poor, despite us being only one of two tables there, the waitress was friendly enough but sharp and the food was served very quickly. The food itself would be the reason to avoid this is clearly frozen food heated up, how do you get a pizza wrong? They were like cardboard bases, still white underneath but solid, the toppings were sparse and spread by a machine (so clearly shop bought) rather than freshly made. Whilst reasonably priced, there is a reason for that, avoid and try some of the much better positioned and authentic and fresh restaurants (which I have also reviewed).

Not good. The waitress was very rude to begin with. I ordered Chicken Carbonara and it was vile. Swimming in sauce with raw egg in it. I had to clean my teeth to get rid of the taste when I got home. Service was very slow. Would I go here again? Not on your life.

Visited this restaurant on our first night initially as it was one of the closest to our apartment. We couldn't fault the quality of the food, the value for money or the service by the staff, so much so that we returned another 3 times. The pizza, lasagne, chicken, salad and swordfish were all very good but the paella was amazing. All enjoyed with a fantastic view of the sea.

Food is great as always tuna pizza is to die for! Starters were great and had a lovely atmosphere. If you are an early eater they have people in the restaurant all day so it’s never completely dead either!!

Two years and 8 months since we were in Mojacar and our first meal out was Saturday lunch in the sun at the Levante. Friendly as ever and the food was fresh, cooked perfectly and the service was excellent. Highly recommend this place.
