We went 61 meters underground and explored the area. The best part is that they encouraged everyone to take as many photos as they wanted and post them online. Definitely worth the experience!
Jeremy, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable with a hint of humour. For the 75mins tour, we didn’t have to climb nor crawl underground so rest assured you won’t ruin your shoes nor cloths! If you are adventurous they also offer a deeper mine tour which lasts longer. 75mins tour is suitable for children and elderly. When we were down there for a guided walk, some people were having a birthday party in the mine with disco lights on. Guess it is one of a kind experience if anyone is interested.
My group and I recently took a tour of a mine in Bendigo, where we went underground for the first time. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and found our guide to be very informative. After exploring the old buildings and machinery on the surface, we felt that the tour was well worth it for a glimpse into Bendigo's history.
We did the 1h tour and it was extremely interesting and enjoyable. Zoe was really knowledgeable and explained how was working in the mine back in the days. She also showed us how to spot gold among other minerals. Highly recommended. I wish we did the 3.5h tour!
Great experience...a must do when in Bendigo. Our tour guide SJ was amazing, funny and very knowledgeable. Make sure you have enough time to visit the surface after or before your mine tour. If you book the last tour which is 3 pm, plan to visit the surface before the tour as there won't be enough time after. PRE-BOOK if you can to not get disappointed as it is very popular. We parked the car an hour before our tour at museum parking and took the talking tram around the city which first stop was in front of the museum, returned to the same spot after 45 mins and went straight to the Gold mine. Dont forget to wear comfy closed toe shoes.
