Metropolitan Hotel - Bendigo

An awesome time always had by all here. Excellent DJ, great staff (& security) and the entertainment (inebriated patrons) never fails to amuse us. Wouldn't be the same without it.

This is a very centrally located bistro style hotelIt offers a wide range of beers on tap and good (enough) wines by the glassThe menu is dominated by parmas , clearly its most popular offeringI had the crispy skin barramundi with roasted balsamic vine tomatoes and fresh mixed veg. With a lemon sauce the meal was delicious and fillingI had thought about the parma with prawns and creamy sauce , so asked a nearby diner his opinion , which was very positiveNot super cheap , but it is goodIt was a Thurs, which is Karaoke night as I heard later from my hotel , but good luck to the singers in this University town. Well recommended

In the city for a car show, and it was a nice central pub. great decore, staff were friendly, but unfortunately understaffed for a big event making service very slow. At the bar they were good. Lunch menu was a bit short on variety and I know in some restaurants black bread and buns are trendy, but the food also has very good flavour. If the chef doesnt have the skill...keep it simple. The cheese burger would have been 100% better with a nice bakery bun. food was a bit disappointing.

Came here for dinner for a work function. We had booked a table for about twenty of us. We sat outside before dinner at the large tables they have out the front as it was a nice evening. A very relaxed feel about the venue.Went inside to our table and looked at the menu. Lots on offer. They have a special on parmas with several different varieties available including mexican (comes with corn chips etc on top), pork and a meat lovers. I went wih the original parma.Our meals come out after about twenty minutes. The pub was pretty busy so this was a reasonable wait time. One meal seemed to be forgotten as we had to remind the kitchen staff about this. It didnt come out until about ten minutes after the rest.My parma was huge! All the meals were really big and generous in serving size. The chicken was a nice thick piece and was covered in delicious cheese and salsa. I had ordered vegies too and these were also really nice. I really enjoyed my meal.The other meals all looked great, the meat lovers parma (this isnt its official name on the menu but I forget what it is actually called) was covered in a huge amount of meat. The pig parma was also piled high with toppings. The mexican parma had 'fake' avocado on top which wasnt very nice apparently. I think the menu listed it as guacamole though, so it was technically correct. Other than that everyone was happy with their meals.After dinner we moved back outside to have more drinks. A good variety of beers and ciders are available. Magners is the cider available by the bottle, which is not one of my personal favourites but that is just my taste buds.The wait staff were all really friendly and helpful. They are quick to serve customers at the bar. This place gets very busy at times and I think they do a wonderful job keeping on top of things.Overall this was a great night out.

Dropped in for Lunch and every meal that came to our table was delicious. The buttermilk chicken and pulled beef cigars for starters were beautiful. We all ordered steaks and each was cooked to perfection and the presentation was perfect . All in all a great Lunch that i could recommend to everyone
