The Ranch Room - Bellingham

This restaurant is nothing special, with below-average food. The eggs Benedict we ordered were alright, but I would have preferred the classic version. The service was good.

After a long day of skiing, Mr. Baker and I were hungry. We decided to visit another restaurant nearby, but it was closed, like several others in the area (possibly due to school closures and the coronavirus). We wanted to have dinner and saw that the Horseshoe Café was open, so we decided to give it a try. We weren't sure what to expect since we usually check Yelp first, but with so many closures, we ended up at the Horseshoe Café without any prior knowledge. The décor was old-fashioned, with booths and a 21+ attached bar, but that didn't bother us. We both ordered breakfast for dinner - I had the bun and wail, while my son had a meat lover's omelette. The staff was friendly, the food came out quickly, and it was served at the right temperature. My son thought his portion was huge (and he eats a lot), while mine was a good size (a large baked chicken breast and a big Belgian waffle). It's hard to mess up breakfast, but the fried chicken was a standout. It was perfectly cooked, juicy, and well-seasoned. I would definitely consider visiting the Horseshoe Café again next time I'm in the city and possibly trying something else from their menu.

A friend recommended this restaurant to me. At first glance, I was skeptical, but it turned out to be clean and well-maintained. The staff was very friendly, and the food was delicious. My partner is a vegetarian and had some fantastic options. The portions were generous, but not overwhelming. The decor was clean and tidy. Overall, I would give it a score of 4 out of 5 because nobody is perfect. We will definitely be returning!

We stopped for breakfast and this was just what we were looking for good food, reasonable prices, and great location. And it is the oldest cafe in Washington State.

We went in and found a menu full of classic diner options including burgers, sandwiches and breakfast all day. They also have a full bar and a handful of beers on draft. The food was good and had generous portions. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices were par for the diner market prices.
