Magdalena's Creperie - Bellingham

The food was fantastic, but our experience was marred by our waitress’s behavior. We were gathered for a friend's birthday, and we typically meet a couple of times a year to catch up and enjoy a variety of dishes. Unfortunately, it seemed we were taking too long for our waitress, who openly communicated to the cook (Magdalena?) that we needed to leave so they could use the table. There was no attempt at discretion; we could clearly overhear her comments. It would be understandable if the restaurant were busy, but there were plenty of open tables, and no one was waiting for a four-top. It felt like we were being passive-aggressively asked to leave. This just shouldn't happen. Do better, please.

I ordered an iced tea but was curtly informed that they were out, even though the person sitting next to me received one. When I suggested pouring hot tea over ice to cool it down, the waitress seemed taken aback and refused. I then asked for club soda or sparkling water, only to be told they didn’t have any of that either. Meanwhile, all the other tables had their orders taken and served quickly. We had to go up and ask to place our order and were then told to wait even longer. The waitress didn't return and instead sent a child to serve us our drinks. The whole experience was unreasonably rude.

We had an amazing breakfast at Magdalena. We tried the house special crepes, Shakshuka, and vegetarian pierogis, all of which were fantastic. My partner ordered the #4 Savory Crepe, but unfortunately, it didn't hit the mark for him. The service was excellent! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that we found the drinks to be a bit overpriced—$7 for a small glass of fresh orange juice and $6 for a small kids' hot chocolate. Our total bill came to nearly $200. Overall, I highly recommend trying the food! As for vegetarian options, there are plenty to choose from.

Not only did I feel transported to Europe in this chic, quaint establishment, the service and food were phenomenal!!! I got the Turkish cilbir and was knocked off my feet it was so delicious!! I can’t wait to come back again ?Also- outside seating is dog friendly- bonus!

I often order the most unknown/different/unusual item on the menu. Boy oh boy, I’m glad that I did. This was so tasty and unique! Nice looking place with excellent service.
