Ciao Thyme catered my Aunt's wedding and it was spectacular The building is gorgeous, well lit with a great view of Bellingham.
Superb. Unique, exciting, fresh, local, super tasty. Friendly staff. Stunningly great, creative food. Lunch only.
Ciao Thyme is one of those local legend restaurants that for a variety of reasons I just never seemed to get around to visiting until recently. In a way, maybe I was avoiding it. Not because I didn 't want to experience its rumored amazingness, but because maybe I was a little afraid I 'd be disappointed. 'Cuz when EVERYONE says a place is fantastic, well, that sets the bar pretty high! So I went. Finally. A lunch date with the dude several months ago. We got there right when they opened so we wouldn 't have to worry about a long line so we were literally the first to order! Their menu rotates regularly, so (unless you do some research in advance) you don 't really know what 's available until you arrive. They do this on purpose so they can provide the absolute freshest, most in season ingredients possible. And that first trip didn 't disappoint. We shared a GIANT bowl of ramen, and a couple of sides. Oh and I indulged in a pre noon glass of wine. The service was impeccable (including a personal visit from the owner/chef), and the food was just as EVERYONE said it would be: fresh, local, and divine! Round two at CT came just last week. A friend invited me out to lunch and I was more than happy to say yes. We arrived later in the lunch hour, so it was busy and we had to wait a couple of minutes for our table (which was no big deal), then soon our lunches arrived. We both got the beet balls (think meatballs but, well, you get it now). I confess I was a little hesitant, but they were delicious. And they were served in a presentation that was so beautiful I didn 't want to disturb its beauty. We skipped the wine this time (darn work), but it was still a delightful experience with the same friendly, efficient service that can be a rarity around here. My only complaint about Ciao Thyme (and I 'm sure they hear this often) is that they aren 't open for dinner! They do plan special dinners, though, which can be found on their website. I seriously can 't imagine how over the top wonderful these dinners must be, considering what perfection my lunch experiences were. Ciao Thyme, you don 't disappoint! Can 't wait to go back. Anybody free for lunch?
These guys are awesome. They are basically my personal chefs at this point and have catered for me multiple times. Their waffles go absolutely crazy. Some of my favorite people that create some of my favorite dishes!
