Ishoni - Bellevue

Ishoni is a true paradise for beef lovers. This Japanese BBQ restaurant offers an impressive selection of beef cuts that are expertly seasoned, allowing you to grill them over an authentic charcoal fire. It's hard to imagine a better culinary experience than that! In addition to beef, they also serve chicken, pork, seafood, and vegetables. While you can certainly try a bit of everything if it's your first visit, I highly recommend sticking to an all-beef meal, as that’s really all you need. My top recommendations include the beef tongue, beef short rib slices, wagyu beef slices, and especially the beef rib cubes—the fat and juices are absolutely divine. I highly recommend this place!

It's important to make a reservation, as the restaurant is a bit small and getting a seat can be difficult without one. Reservations can only be made up to two days in advance. The restaurant is clean, and the barbecuing is done over a coal fire pot, which enhances the flavor of the meat. Overall, the quality is great, and the prices are reasonable for a downtown Bellevue location.

Tiny restaurant that sits 6 tables of 4-6. Hard to get reservations especially weekend. Only open for dinner. Food was great, especially the wagyu beef $109 for 10oz).

Decent meat quality with fair price. Just make reservation, walk-in is impossible as there are only 6 tables and they need to prepare the charcoal. Will definitely return.
