Northway Restaurant - Belleville

Visited twice after new owners took over. Dinners were table. Since reading some good reviews, we decided to try it again. Never again! The so-called mash potatoes were utterly disgusting. Even the server admitted they looked awful. She kept blaming the cook. She needed to...take responsibility for serving them. They appeared to be dried out heated up potatoes from previous day(s). How could she bring these out to the table? See picture! My husband’s wrap was lacking filling. Not up to standard of other restaurants.

My son lives walking distance from this restaurant and his driven by it many times but it wasn't until I found it on TripAdvisor that we went in for breakfast. I wrote a review then indicating I was very pleased. I'm back again for a...visit in Belleville and we again went for breakfast. I had the seniors mushroom and cheese omelet. It was good but the eggs were a bit dry. It's a two egg omelet instead of the regular four egg. Not sure if they do it on the griddle or in a frying pan, but the egg gets too thin before it is folded. Be better to do it in a small frying pan. That said it was tasty and the hashbrowns were excellent. Where we were sitting, we saw a sign that said half price appetizers after PM and there was a picture of chicken wings. So we went back after PM. My son had chili chicken wings and I had the hot ones. Both were good and we shared an excellent order of fried onions. This quickly became my sons go to restaurant for breakfast and now will be for wings as well. And certainly I will want to go there each time I visit Belleville.

Found it on TripAdvisor when searching breakfast restaurant. What a find! I had the seniors Benny. Another perfectly poached egg with excellent hollandaise sauce. What's with Belleville? Do they have a hollandaise sauce school. That's the second one in a row that was perfect. Great...home fries and a nice piece of Peameal bacon. And then a senior discount on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. My son had the Northway skillet. It also had the hollandaise on it. than he could eat but he pronounced it excellent. The service was efficient and pleasant. One minor glitch. It was day two of requiring proof of Covid vaccination. The receptionist asked if we were vaccinated but did not look at our certificates. But I am here to judge service, ambience, and food. So I'm not going to knock them down for a bureaucratic slip. The restaurant is only two minutes off the and has good parking. We enjoyed our last meal here so well we decided to try again. Although we have been coming here for years this restaurant is under new ownership! We arrived pm and were seated and then a second waitress came over shortly to help us....We were undecided on what to try but settled on wings which don't show on the menu. Our waitress Kayla was very helpful. She was surprised when an order for another table came out before ours and went to check right away. This wasn't too upsetting as wings do take a while to cook. By this time Kayla had around tables she was looking after with no help???We finally got our wings but our fries came out a few minutes later. Still didn't mind this because wings and fries were so hot. And they were both good! My complaint is this: Why is one girl running around like crazy and another is sitting doing nothing? Well not really nothing she was rolling stainless in napkins and she kept taking her mask off! When we finished and were leaving THE HOSTESS was sitting at the bar and our waitress still had about six tables she was looking after...THE LEAST SHOULD COULD HAVE DONE IS TAKE OVER THE VISA MACHINE TO HELP OUT. This would never have happened in the old restaurant. Everyone helped each other...sorry but fair is fair...apparently these days waitresses are supposed to share their tips in some way with kitchen staff and the hostess! Not fair in my books when one is sitting chatting and the other is running around like crazy.

I will never return to this place again. The food my wife and I ordered is supposed to come with coleslaw but when we asked why we didn’t get it they said they weren’t making it right now. We were only told this when we...asked. We were still charged the same price for the meals. Also my wife asked for extra mayo for her clubhouse and got charged an extra Really?? That should have been free since our meals were not complete. You have lost our business This place has gone downhill.
