Some times it is a hit or miss on how good they keep with the salad bar. Our server was very attentive. Food was fast and good! After the salad bar had to take my dinner home. Very clean and plenty of space. Never wait.
First Hoss's is really not much of a sea house, as maybe when first emerged, fish, salmon and crab cake is all they have now, and the scallops they had in the past were 2 pucks that we would always buy until they changed to 1/2 nibbles. Secondly, they themselves were proud of the acquisitions of HHH County Fair purchases, well let me say that these Thier Steaks are second class and full of fat and gristle. I used to like being here for a good steak, but they went on the way to the old Ponderosa Steak House Franchise. Cutting corners on food quality never works. Finally and the reason for 4 stars and not 3. Of course the salad bar... Although in the past I had deep-frozen salad and fixations on my last visit everything on the salad bar was fresh and welcoming, soups were hot, but what made them on the fresh bread is a shame, no more variety, what was a four foot area of healthy bread is now a 1 foot bread box. Service was always great at this point, but make sure that the waiting staff to keep on order, or you sit to enjoy your salad and let your entrée come after several bites. I hope you enjoy your dinner,
Host was not friendly. Our waitress was good. The salad bar is good, but the ladies who use the salad bar were rude. on the way! If it wasn't for the customers, they wouldn't have that job. The presentation of the steak is missing and you cannot get a medium from a steak that is thin. I'd go back.
One of the last Hoss restaurants. The salad bar was not as big as I remember very little warm dishes choice. But the food was decent. The service was slow.
Delightful little steakhouse in the spirit of the bygone days of Ponderosa and Bonanza. A little pricey for what it is. My wife had steak tips and I had a ribeye. My cooked perfectly to our wishes. Ribeye was as flavorful as a full fledged steak place. Soup, salad and dessert bar were well stocked with decent food. The only issue was some fruit flies dancing around the dessert bar and a few had got stuck in the fruit toppings. While they won't hurt ya, management should probably Google how to get rid of them. Not a difficult task and I'm sure pickier patrons would appreciate it. We were quickly seated and served. Food was out almost as soon as we had finished our salad from the salad bar. The dessert bar is the only thing keeping this from a five star review for me. 4.5/5.
