Ur Mediterranean - Beaverton

The food here is outstanding. It was beautifully presented, and the flavors were amazing. The quality and texture of the meat were perfect. Finding good Mediterranean food can be a hit or miss, but this place definitely hit the mark! It felt like a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

I decided to stop by for lunch, and I'm glad I did! The food was incredibly fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection.

When my daughter and I arrived in downtown Beaverton, it was our first time in the area, and finding parking proved to be a bit tricky. We ended up parking about three blocks from the restaurant. Google Maps said it would take about four minutes to walk, and I thought, why not? It would be good exercise. Parts of the downtown area were closed for outdoor dining, and a children's playground had been set up in the street. They even had oversized lawn chairs that would have made for great photos, though I regrettably didn't take any. The atmosphere was lively, and the weather was just right. I noticed, as some reviews pointed out, that the young guy at the counter didn’t seem particularly pleasant—he looked a bit dull, to be frank. However, I didn't want to let this first impression overshadow the experience, so I pressed on. We placed an order for five dishes (chicken kabob, lamb and beef kabob, chicken shawarma, chicken shish kabobs, and a hummus plate). He informed us there would be a 25-minute wait, and I thought that was no problem. Once we got home and unpacked the food, my initial impression was mixed. Just look at the photos I took of our meals! For the price we paid, there was enough food to serve two people. I could only get through half of it and saved the rest for lunch the next day. The rice was delicious—fluffy and with good texture. The chicken, beef, and lamb were all flavorful and moist, not dry at all. The hummus was decent, although the pita bread had gotten cold by the time we got home. Surprisingly, the food was perfectly prepared, which was a nice turnaround from my first impression at the counter. Don't be deceived! This guy really created a culinary masterpiece for us! I couldn't pinpoint the spice sprinkled on top, but when mixed with the sauce and the rice alongside the proteins, it was a delightful combination. I have to say, this was the best Mediterranean food I've had in the area. UR has firmly secured a spot in my Top 5, and you can bet I'll be back for more!

Pricey but well worth it! Portions were HUGE and will easily feed us for several meals as leftovers. The gyro was seriously gigantic. Food was fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend!
