Red Lobster - Beavercreek

It had been over 30 years since I last dined at Red Lobster. I brought my two oldest grandchildren along, excitedly bragging about how great the food was and how much they would enjoy it. Unfortunately, I couldn't have been more mistaken! While the salads, cheese sticks, and bread were decent, the main courses we ordered were completely disappointing—truly terrible! Out of the four of us, not a single meal was satisfactory.

The service was extremely slow. I requested to speak with a manager, but they never came to the front or to our table. We ordered the endless shrimp but could only get two servings during our more than two hours there. I'm not sure if the kitchen was overwhelmed, but I noticed about four staff members standing around without helping the server, who had five tables seated in a short time despite other servers being available. It wasn’t the server’s fault.

I bought delivery, as my elderly, disabled parent was craving their shrimp. I also ordered the calamari and extra biscuits. I was shocked at how poorly the food was using delivery. With the calamari, all of the breading fell off, and the calamari itself was too chewy, which happens when overcooked. The shrimp, Walt's Shrimp, was bland in flavor while also being too salty. But, the basing stayed on them. The fries were soggy, not crisp, but the mashed potatoes were not bad. The biscuits were still very delicious, and still had the crisp outside they usually have. If I was just going off this delivery, I would never be back. In the restaurant, I've never had this poor of quality of food.

Way better than I remember from the last 2 decades, but it’s still Red Lobster, a chain restaurant. Rebranding would improve their ratings, cuz they destroyed their reputation in the early 2000’s. That said, the biscuits are better than ever, and their all you can eat shrimp is actually a really good deal. The seafood chowder is pretty good, but way too filling.

Stopped into this red lobster tonight for dinner. The food was really good. The service was fantastic. Amber was a great server and took great care of us. The lobster dip is so good reminds me of Florida it tastes fresh! And my steak was cooked exactly the way I like and seasoned to perfection. There mac and cheese with the bacon and creamy lobster sauce I imagine is what they eat everyday in heaven it’s too good to be true! If you haven’t been here yet come in!! Don’t let me forget those amazing melt in your mouth cheddar bay biscuits!!!
