I have a fondness for small-town bars and diners, but I have some concerns about this particular place: 1) They advertise that they've remodeled their dive bar, but the interior feels quite dull; I think I might have preferred it before the renovation; 2) Some patrons seem to turn everything into a political debate, and I really don’t believe bars are suitable venues for discussing today's partisan politics. This place has been around for a long time and appears to be doing well, but it feels like they aren't interested in attracting new customers. I just long for the days when you could walk into a neighborhood bar and not be immediately greeted by signs that criticize half the country. I’m not saying they shouldn’t run their establishment as they see fit, but that kind of confrontational attitude just isn’t for me.
